Sam D. bowing out

Bruce, Bob, David Shumaker, Tom,

I've been thinking about this trip, and y'all have already put a lot of work into the planning.
I think I'm going to have to bow out, ....
I'm just too stressed out thinking about getting me (and my bicycle) to Wyoming, about the traffic on the park roads, and worrying about the weather in mid September out there in the mountains.
I think I'll wait till FOGBEES does a more traditional trip in the eastern U.S.......It would be hard to beat
that RAT last year! (and it was so close!).

Thanks for inviting me to go though!

Sincerely,
Sam Denham

ps I did take the altitude concerns off my worry list, after finding out that all the roads would be less than 9000 ft.

  1. Sam,
Getting you and bike to Wyoming could be as easy as driving to Hendersonville and getting in a van. Can't say about park roads other than they could not be worse than some of the roads we have done on BAMA's.
Some of us can feel the biological clock ticking so must take advantage of every opportunity. Your ticks are not yet so loud.

  2. Sam,

I could not agree more with Bruce. We still have details to work out and how to get the bikes to/from the west safely and clean is one of them. E.G., we have discussed getting a small trailer. Your were a great ride participant on the RAT and we all would like to have you join us again. Some of us older types welcome your enthusiasm and encouragement. Meanwhile we will continue to sort out the remaining details for a fun trip. Hope we can have as many participants as possible.
