All, I would be careful about "releasing" reservations. That may make them unavailable to Ben and Ann. I would check with reservation services about transferring them to Ben and Ann in order to assure they get them.
I agree with Tom that as long as we have anyone who might use the rooms we should keep them, as long as Pat and Bob are willing. Pat has extra Coulter Bay and Bob has extras in park. Also agree that if a reservation is released it will probably go into the general pool so the only sure option for using the extras would be to keep the current reservations and pay Pat and or Bob the money. Paying Bob could be a minor hassle but he is an expert in international money transfer. I think the idea of you assuming someone's reservation was due to Bob, Ed, Pat, and Linda dropping out at differing times. One of the interim plans involved some fancy footwork that is no longer necessary. Or at least that is my understanding. I've updated the Google Lodgings spreadsheet to reflect the current status. It would still appear that holding all our current reservations till the week before we leave incurs no additional penalty above the $16 Pat will suffer at Colter Bay.
Tom raised the potential issue of needing the ID or credit card of the original reservation. I've never encountered that but do agree it needs to be addressed before arrival if anyone does assume someone's reservation.
